Michael van Rooyen

Michael is the Principal Consultant responsible for the technical direction of the Bridge Point Networking Group and the Critical Infrastructure - Centre of Excellence. Michael has over 16 years’ experience in ICT and Telecommunications and prior to joining Bridge Point has worked for a number integrators.
Michael has key skills in design and overviewing the successful implementation of complex projects. His experience in converging traditional siloed subsystem networks into a single converged infrastructure has been invaluable when working with a number of critical infrastructure clients that include transportation, utilities, mining, construction and building automation.
Michael has unique experience in providing enterprise IP network design and architecture experience in construction and engineering networks. Michael has authored the Bridge Point “Validated Industrial Network Design” which provides the framework for integrating proprietary networks with the open IP standards.
Michael works closely with key vendors and partners including Cisco, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell and Tyco Transport. Michael leads a team of network consultants and engineers specialising in network design and implementation.
