Overview
For those wanting a high level understanding of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) based on ISO 27001, this is a good place to start.
Protecting one of your organisation's most important assets, its information, is a business problem whose solution involves more than deploying a firewall and anti-virus software or other technology solutions.
In this half-day seminar, Bridge Point introduces the ISMS based on ISO 27001, the International Standard for Information Security Management, which recently replaced AS 7799.2 and BS 7799.2, to which over 2000 organisations have become certified worldwide. It also covers the associated international standard, ISO 27002 and, for Brisbane audiences, the Queensland Government’s Information Standard, IS18 (Brisbane seminars only).
The ISMS is a comprehensive risk identification, assessment and management system, comprising technology, policy and practice-based solutions. The course provides a good introduction to implementing an ISMS compliant with ISO 27001, ISO 27002 or QG IS18 (for Brisbane audiences) in any organisation.
The seminar includes:
- What is Information Security?
- Overview of relevant standards (ISO 27001 & ISO 27002 and QG IS18)
- Components of the standard based Information Security Management System
- Managing a program to implement the ISMS
- Options for measuring and demonstrating compliance or achieving certification
